Johnson County man sentenced to 10 years on meth-related charges

UNION COUNTY, IL (KFVS) -

A southern Illinois man has be re-sentenced to state prison on meth-related charges.

Union County State's Attorney Tyler R. Edmonds says William R. Taylor, 36, of rural Johnson County, Illinois has been sentenced to 10 years in the Illinois Department of Corrections.

That's after admitting a petition to revoke probation for the original offense of unlawful methamphetamine conspiracy, according to Edmonds.

Taylor was arrested in April 2011 as part of an investigation by the Union County and Johnson County sheriffs offices.

The investigation showed Taylor had bought methamphetamine manufacturing materials at an Anna, Illinois store.

He pleaded guilty in June 2011 and was placed on probation.

Taylor violated his probation and was re-sentenced on April 21, 2015.
