5 cited in Murphysboro after drug investigation

MURPHYSBORO, IL (KFVS) -

Five people are facing charges after an investigation stemming from a call about stolen prescription medication in Murphysboro, IL.

According to Murphysboro police, a call of a possible theft of prescription medication was made from a home on Wall Street that apparently involved several people selling Kirby vacuums door-to-door.

During the investigation, police found that 27-year-old Nathaniel Atkins of Carbondale, 20-year-old Trent Halliday of Murphysboro, 32-year-old Jason Mills of Zeigler, Jennifer Lasko, 34,  of Zeigler, and 19-year-old Christopher Craig of Granite City hadn't obtained peddlers licenses from the city. 

All five were cited for not obtaining a peddlers license and were released.

Mills was also cited for drug paraphernalia. 

The investigation into the original call of medication theft is still under investigation by Murphysboro police.
