DU QUOIN, IL (KFVS) - A recent listeria concern with the Blue Bell Creameries in Brenham, Texas is causing concerns with a southern Illinois business with a similar name.

DuQuoin Specialty Meats, LLC and owner of the trademark "Blue Bell Meats," David Pearl, said he wants to make clear that his meat company is not affiliated with the ice cream company with a similar name.

Pearl said his company has noticed a drop in the number of meat orders in the past week; around the same time when a recall was voluntarily issued on all ice cream sold by Blue Bell Creameries over a listeria concern.

Pearl said the logos are different and the products are different.

The Illinois based company's logo is of a blue bell flower, while the Texas based company's logo is of a cow being lead by a young girl.

Pearl and his family purchased the distribution plant in Du Quoin in 2002.

Blue Bell is an Illinois staple that's been around for nearly a hundred years.

The branding dropped off the market in 1990 after financial troubles with the previous owner.

Pearl decided to revive the name in 2011 and continue the brand.
