2 McCracken County residents accused of breaking into school

PADUCAH, KY (KFVS) -

Authorities say two McCracken County residents were charged with burglary on Thursday.

Brady K. Arnett, 18, of West Paducah and Matthew T. Hayes were charged with two counts of 3rd degree burglary.

On April 22, 2015, the McCracken County Sheriff's Department began investigating after someone got into the Old Heath High School building on Metropolis Lake Road.

School officials reported that food was taken and criminal acts were committed in several areas in the school.

The investigation pointed towards two main suspects at that time and they were identified as being Hayes and Arnett.

On Thursday, April 23, sheriff's deputies and detectives again went to the same location for another burglary complaint.

For a second night in a row, items were taken and damage was caused.

Detectives located the two suspects at 9500 Nace Avenue shortly after 1:30 p.m.

Both suspects were taken to the sheriff's department for interviews.

During the interviews with detectives, both suspects admitted and confessed to being the ones that entered the school, according to the sheriff's office.

Both were booked into the McCracken County Regional Jail.

McCracken County School resources officers assisted at the scene and identifying the suspects.
