PERRYVILLE, MO (KFVS) -

The Perryville Police Department recently bought police body cameras.

According to a news release, the department bought six WOLFCAM 3rd EYE cameras for $3,450.

There are radio cables that hook up to the police radios utilize the speaker function.

"We want to provide high quality police body cameras at an affordable price so all law enforcement departments can utilize them," said WOLFCOM CEO Tiffany Wang. "Police body cameras need to be used because they benefit the police officers as well as the citizens in the community. The use of police body cameras gives the community transparency and in return, the community will have more trust toward police officers."

According to a news release, Chief Direk Hunt says his police department choose the cameras after getting a favorable review from another police department that was using them.

"We were looking at ways to document citizen contact better," said Hunt.

WOLFCOM is located in Hollywood, California.
