ZALMA, MO (KFVS) -

An 11-year-old girl was rushed to a Memphis hospital after she was run over by a car in the Zalma school parking lot, according to the Missouri Highway Patrol.

It happened around 3:30 p.m.

Zalma school principal Shannon Garner says the girl was run over by a car driven by her 17-year-old sister.

Garner says the girl was alert and had feeling in her legs, but said she was hurt.

According to Garner, the mother of the little girl said she will be ok. The girl has a fractured pelvis and abrasions.

The driver was wearing a seatbelt.

School officials do not know exactly how it happened.
