Fans flocking to Superman Celebration #37

METROPOLIS, IL (KFVS) - Metropolis has become the center of the super hero universe, as fans flock to the 37th Superman Celebration.

The annual event celebrating the Man of Steel runs from Thursday, June 11 through Sunday, June 14.

City leaders say the event makes a positive impact not only on the local economy, but on the City of Metropolis itself.

Actors from the hit TV shows 'Arrow', 'The Flash', and 'Lois & Clark' will sign autographs at a special event Saturday. You need a ticket to attend an autograph session. The tickets are free.

Comic book writer Kurt Busiek will be at this year's celebration. Busiek is best known for his work on the Marvel's limited series and his four year run on ‘The Avengers.' Artist and writer Mike Norton will also be on hand. Norton is known for his work on ‘Runaways' and ‘Gravity.'

Morgan Strebler, one of the world's leading experts and performers in Psycho Kinetic Magic, will perform June 12-14.

The K-9 Crew Trick Dog show, a high-energy canine thrill show, will also be on hand.

BMX bike show ‘Freestyle Connection' will also make a return trip to Metropolis for the celebration.

The Superman Celebration will also feature the Fan Film Festival. Organizers said there are 50 fan films entered from 17 countries. They'll be shown at the Baymont Theater throughout the festival.
