Carbondale, IL woman facing charges of contributing to child's truancy

CARBONDALE, IL (KFVS) -

A Carbondale, Illinois woman has been charged with contributing to the truancy of a child.

Jennifer Bryant, 38, was charged on February 6 in an Information filed in the Circuit Court of Jackson County.

Bryant appeared on April 7 for a first appearance. The information alleges that the offenses occurred between Aug. 28 and Feb. 5.

According to the States Attorney for Jackson County, Michael C. Carr, that is a Class C misdemeanor that carries a maximum penalty of 30 days in jail.

The case was investigated by the Regional Office of Education and is being prosecuted by Assistant State's Attorney Neil Holley.
