Man drowns in Kentucky Lake Saturday night

MARSHALL COUNTY, KY (KFVS) -

A Kentucky man drowned in Kentucky Lake this weekend.

According to Marshall County Rescue Squad Chief Curtis Curtner, two men were fishing on Kentucky Lake Saturday night.

Curtner says they got the call at 7 p.m. that one of the men went into the water and didn't resurface.

Both men were fishing when the 65-year-old man fell out of the back of the boat, and into the water.

The other man searched quickly for the man that fell in, but couldn't find him. He then called 911.

The Marshall County Rescue Squad along with around half a dozen other responding agencies responded to the scene and searched for the man.

Curtner says they called in a diver from McCracken County to search.

The diver found the body of the man around 12:15 a.m. Sunday morning.

The man that drowned is from Cunningham, Kentucky.

Family has been notified, but as of this time, the man's name has not been released.
