CHICAGO, IL (KFVS) -

The Illinois State Police Cold Case Squad filed charges against three men for a shooting on the Dan Ryan Expressway on September 5, 2012.

Garrett Glover, 27, and Patrick Calvin, 21, both of Chicago, were charged with first degree murder. They are being held on a $2 million bond in the Cook County Department of Corrections.

A first degree murder warrant was issued for Tyronne Mixon, 23, of Chicago. He is currently in custody at the Wisconsin Department of Corrections.

According to ISP, they responded to a call of shots fired on the Dan Ryan Expressway at about 87th Street on Sept. 5 at 11:50 p.m.

Troopers arrived on scene and found the driver, Larry Porter, of Chicago, was dead from a gunshot to the head.

ISP said passengers in Porter's vehicle gave a description of the suspect vehicle, description of the driver and a possible owner.

They say at the time, all leads came up empty.

During the course of the continued investigation, police say several witnesses were re-interviewed and they got more information.

On April 16, nearly three years later, the Cook County State's Attorney approved the first degree murder charges.
