5 vehicles stolen in Carbondale, 2 found burned

CARBONDALE, IL (KFVS) - Carbondale police are investigating five vehicle thefts that happened between April 13 and April 14. 

Two vans and three motorcycles were stolen. Both vans were recovered on April 14 at the Columbia Bottoms Conservation Area in St. Louis County, Mo. after being set on fire. All the vehicles were reported to have been locked prior to the thefts.

The following are the vehicles stolen during the incidents:

1- 2008 blue and black Kawasaki ZX10R Motorcycle with Illinois registration DB8236 stolen on April 13 between 9 p.m. and 11:30 p.m. from the 1100 block of East Grand Avenue. The motorcycle has a dent on the left side of the fuel tank.

2- 1999 Green Dodge Caravan with Illinois registration SHSDC5 stolen between April 13 at 4:30 a.m. and April 14 at 7:01 a.m. from the 1200 block of East Grand Avenue. This van was recovered in the St. Louis area.

3- 2003 white Dodge Caravan with Illinois registration DB8236 stolen between April 13 at about 9:31 p.m. and April 14 at about 12:45 a.m. from the 1200 block of East Grand Avenue. This van was recovered in the St. Louis area.

4- 2007 red Honda CBR600 with Illinois registration CT51000 stolen on April 14 between 2:30 a.m. and 7:30 a.m. from the 600 block of East Park Street

5- 2006 white Kawasaki 636 with Illinois registration DC720 stolen on April 14 between 12 a.m. and 08:44 a.m. from the 1100 block of East Grand Avenue. The motorcycle has the word “Playboy” in black lettering on the side.

The Carbondale Police Department and the St. Louis Auto Theft Task Force is reviewing all available information on all leads.
