Marion, IL record store wants to celebrate music

We've told you before, vinyl is making a huge comeback, especially vintage vinyl.

A lot of the credit should go to local record stores that offer the supply to go with the demand.

Joe's Records in Marion, Illinois will celebrate Record Store Day on Saturday, April 18.

Joe's says Record Store Day is a way to recognize the unique culture and importance of independent record stores.

Record shops around the world are taking part in Record Store Day. They will stock their shelves with collectible, limited edition vinyl that can't be purchased through large corporate stores.

Joe's manager, Josh Stockinger, said the great thing about vinyl is some people are remembering their past when they first listened to records.

Others are just trying out vinyl for the first time in the resurgence of appreciation of old style recordings.

Many say vinyl records offer a much richer sound than digital recordings.

If you want to check out some vinyl for yourself, Joe's Records is located inside the Marion Mall.
