Woman facing drug charges after 911 dispatchers notice suspicious activity

A Paducah woman faces drug charges, according to police.

Devonta O. Woods, 25, of Paducah, faces charges of first-degree trafficking in a controlled substance (cocaine), second offense, and trafficking in marijuana, less than 8 ounces, and first offense.

Police say 911 dispatchers assisted officers Wednesday morning while monitoring security cameras at the city's new boat ramp.

Dispatchers notified officers after seeing suspicious activity on the cameras at the boat ramp, located at 6th and Burnett streets.

A Paducah police officer was dispatched to the area while the 911 operators monitored the cameras, updating officers.

When one officer arrived, he found Woods standing next to a car with suspected marijuana nearby.

An officer and his K-9 found suspected cocaine and marijuana in Woods' car and on Woods, according to police.

Woods was booked into McCracken County Regional Jail.
