CAPE GIRARDEAU, MO (KFVS) -

The Rose Theater will roll out the red carpet for the stars of a new Independent film shot in Cape Girardeau Friday night.

The movie “Love Chronicles (of the Cape)” was shot in Cape Girardeau earlier this year.

Only two actors, leads Jessica Ambuehl and Chris Murphy came from outside the Heartland. The rest of the actors, 108 speaking roles and more than 150 extras call Cape Girardeau and the surrounding area home.

Writer-director Dan Steadman says the film was only about two-thirds scripted, with local folks filling in the blanks. "Some people's stories are real, and we just sort of condensed their story into one angle on it,” said Steadman. “Some were completely fictionalized. It's actually kind of hard to tell when you watch the movie. Some people's names are real, sometimes they have character names on screen. Hopefully, it has a flow to it because it's held together by a story."

The film premiers Friday evening at the Rose Theater at 7:30 p.m. The cast will arrive in style after 6 p.m. in vintage cars and walk the red carpet.

Everyone is welcome to attend the red carpet event, and take pictures with the stars.

The movie will play only four times in Cape Girardeau. Tickets are available for the Friday, April 17 and Saturday, April 18 shows, as well as on the following Friday, April 24 and Saturday, April 25.

Tickets are $10 for general admission and $25 for VIP seats.More details about show times and ticket sales are available here.
