NEW MADRID, MO (KFVS) -

The US Marine Corps has been using the "Battle Phrog" helicopter to win battles since Vietnam.

On Wednesday, one of the helicopters headed to a museum in Virginia made a pit-stop in New Madrid, Missouri.

One Marine on board, Gunnery Sergeant William Grobmyer, is from New Madrid and he wanted to make sure the people there got to see the helicopter one more time.

While the helicopter was in town, school children were able to get outside and see the "Phrog" in action.

This particular helicopter's final destination is the Marine Museum in Norfolk, Virginia.
