Cape Girardeau fire fighters train in high places

CAPE GIRARDEAU, MO (KFVS) -

Cape Girardeau firefighters trained on Wednesday to rescue people stuck in high places.

Firefighters practiced rescues in situation involving high, tight places.

The Regional Technical Rescue Team trained at Cape County Park North.

Cape Battalion Chief Brad Dillow said something about simulating high-angle rescues like tower workers who might have been hanging unconscious from a tower for an hour or two.

"This is something that doesn't happen very often, but it does occur,” Dillow said. “So we just want to be prepared for that, so if a call ever comes were ready to respond to it.”

Fire Crews from several departments participated in the training.
