MCCRACKEN COUNTY, KY (KFVS) -

A Paducah, Kentucky man was arrested after sheriff's deputies responded to a report of a home invasion back in September 2014.

Christopher E. Robinson, 35, was charged with first degree robbery and first degree burglary.

On Sept. 8, 2014, the McCracken Co. Sheriff's Department responded to the 2500 block of Husbands Road for a report of a home invasion.

The victim said that at about 5:55 a.m., an unknown man knocked on their door and asked to use the phone.

When the victim didn't let him in, the suspect allegedly forced his way through the doorway, resulting in an altercation and the suspect pulling out a gun and demanding money and jewelry.

Deputies say the victims gave him money and multiple pieces of jewelry.

They say after staying in the home for about 10 minutes, the suspect ran away.

According to deputies, various pieces of evidence was collected from the scene and processed at the Kentucky State Police crime lab.

During the investigation, detectives determined that the gun used was actually an Air-Soft handgun.

On April 13, deputies say they got information that pointed to a suspect.

Detectives determined the jewelry that was taken from the victims had been sold in September 2014 at two different area gold buyer establishments.

Also, they say a photo of the suspect was placed in a lineup and positively identified by the victims as being the man responsible for the home invasion.

Detectives got an arrest warrant for Robinson.

He was found and arrested in Paducah on April 14 at around 12:15 p.m.

During an interview at the sheriff's department, Robinson allegedly admitted to being the person that planned and carried out the home invasion.

Robinson also allegedly said he needed money and that he chose the home randomly.

He was taken to the McCracken County Regional Jail and booked on a $50,000 cash bond.
