BUTLER COUNTY, MO (KFVS) -

Two men are currently facing charges for illegally dumping trash in Poplar Bluff.

According to Sheriff Mark Dobbs, he saw a truck turning on Ashcroft Road, which is a common dumping spot on the south side of town.

Dobbs says the vehicle stopped and the passenger jumped in the bed of the truck and once the truck started moving again, the man started throwing trash from the bed onto the river levy bank.

The driver, 40-year-old David Shepherd told officers at the scene that he was getting rid of trash from a rental property.

The passenger, 20-year-old Cody Nattier, was allegedly brought along to help Shepherd get rid of the trash.

Shepherd and Nattier were arrested for illegal dumping and taken to the Butler County Jail.
