Sheriff: Woman under the influence cited after crash in Graves County

WINGO, KY (KFVS) -

Graves County Sheriff Dewayne Redmon says a woman was cited after a crash on Sunday morning.

It happened just after 4 a.m. in the 1300 block of US 45

According to the sheriff's office, Melinda Stratton, 30, and a juvenile passenger were headed south when her vehicle crossed over the center line, went off the east side of the road and hit a tree.

An investigation showed Stratton was under the influence of drugs and cited to court due to her injuries. She was taken to an area hospital.

The Wingo Fire Department assisted in treating the woman at the scene.

Stratton was cited to court for DUI-1st, failure to wear seat belts, possession controlled substance 3rd degree, and prescription of a control substance not proper container.
