Several power lines are down and there are no traffic lights in Potosi, Missouri on Wednesday evening, according to the Washington County EMA.

They are asking people to avoid the area.

Hail knocked out the windows of a Bonne Terre police cruiser on Wednesday afternoon.

Bonne Terre was experiencing high winds, hail and rain, according to Bonne Terre Police Chief Doug Calvert.

Flooding was occurring in the parking lot of the police department. This is the second day in a row Bonne Terre Police Station has been hit by flooding. 

There have been a number of reports of significant damage to cars, rooftops from baseball, softball sized hail with the storm in Ste. Genevieve County.

  • 5:02 p.m. - 1.75 inch hail 3 miles SE of Farmington, MO along Hwy. OO.
  • 4:52 p.m. - Two inch hail 5 miles east of Farmington, MO with damage to windows.
  • 4:50 p.m. - Multiple roads with deep running water. Highest about two feet running over St. Joseph Road. in Park Hills, MO.
  • 4:45 p.m. - 2.75 inch hail (golfball size) at KDKZ station in Farmington, MO.
  • 4:45 p.m. - 1 inch hail in Weingarten, MO.
  • 4:36 p.m. - 2.75 inch hail in Farmington, MO.
  • 4:36 p.m. - 1.75 inch hail in Leadington, MO.
  • 4:36 p.m. Spotter reports 3 inch hail in Farmington, MO.
  • 4:04 p.m. - Hoods blown off vehicles at MoDOT facility just east of Potosi, MO.
  • 4 p.m. Spotter reports 1.50 inch hail in Desloge, MO.
  • 3:45 p.m. - .88 inch hail in Park Hills, MO.
  • 3:43 p.m. - 2.75 inch hail 7 miles WNW of Potosi, MO.
  • 3:38 p.m. - Power lines down in Potosi according to Washington County, MO 911.
  • 3:37 p.m. - Tornado reported by stormchaser near Potosi, ,MO.
  • 3:35 p.m. - Observer looking west; Funnel halfway to the ground two miles east of Potosi, MO
  • 3:33 p.m. - Large tree limb down blocking Route 21 with a number of small tree limbs down four miles N of Potosi, MO.
  • 3:33 p.m. - Roof damage to the newspaper building in Potosi.
  • 3:30 p.m. - Rotating wall cloud observed by sheriff's deputies NW of Potosi. 1.4" hail and 7 0 mph winds.
