Man accused of assaulting Paducah man in parking lot

PADUCAH, KY (KFVS) -

A St. Louis, Missouri man is accused of assaulting a Paducah, Kentucky man early on Tuesday morning, April 7.

Michael Suntinger, 22, was charged with second degree assault.

According to Paducah police, Suntinger allegedly assaulted the man in a parking lot at the 3400 block of Wayne Sullivan.

When officers arrived, three people were trying to put the victim into a truck to take him to the hospital after he lost consciousness from his injuries.

During an interview on Tuesday morning at the police department, police say Suntinger admitted to assaulting the man.

He was charged and booked into the McCracken County Regional Jail.

The victim was taken to a Paducah hospital for treatment, but was later transferred to another hospital due to the seriousness of his head injuries.
