STE. GENEVIEVE COUNTY, MO (KFVS) -

Four people were arrested after police found 23 pounds of marijuana after a high speed chase with speeds topping 115 miles per hour in Ste. Genevieve County.

According to court documents, four men in a Chevy Tahoe were traveling north on Interstate 55 in Ste. Genevieve County on April 1 when a Missouri State Highway Patrol trooper pulled the vehicle over for speeding. Shortly after the Tahoe pulled over, it sped away and started a chase.

The Tahoe was traveling as fast as 115 mph and passed two cars before the right side tires went flat after hitting a tire deflation device, according to court documents. The Tahoe then stopped and authorities arrested four men who were traveling in the SUV.

Cornelius Dabney, 34, of St. Louis, Gene Watson, 42, of St. Louis, Antwanne Buie, 54, of St. Louis, and Shanta Miller, 54, of St. Louis were arrested. Watson faces a fraudulent attempt to obtain a controlled substance charge while Buie, Miller and Dabney face other drug charges.

The probable cause statements states the trooper noticed a strong odor of marijuana from the Tahoe after it stopped. After a search, troopers found 23 pounds of marijuana inside separate bags hidden in a duffle bag.

The suspects were taken to the Ste. Genevieve County Jail. Their bonds range from $25,000 to $100,000.
