Touch of Nature to host environmental forum in Carbondale

CARBONDALE, IL (KFVS) -  Environmental educators, students, and others with an interest in learning more about the world will participate in the Environmental Education Association of Illinois annual meeting and conference.

It will be held at Southern Illinois University Carbondale's Touch of Nature Environmental Center on April 9-11.

The theme of the 2015 conference is "Bridging Gaps Under Southern Skies."

Topics will include climate change, the Great Lakes, streams, getting to know the world through media, hands-on environmental learning, and much more.

The conference begins with check-in at 8 a.m. on Thursday, April 9.

The conference will feature guest speakers, field trips, and a number of exhibitors.

Participants can enjoy networking, a silent auction, a fun run/hike, canoeing, a bonfire on Little Grassy Lake, and other various learning and experiential activities. 

The Environmental Education Association of Illinois is a group created to educate people of all ages about the importance of protection the environment, and this conference serves as a tool to help accomplish that goal.
