CARBONDALE, IL (KFVS) -

A crowd of people in Jackson County rushed to get their share of free clothes on Saturday morning.

The 2nd Brigade Motorcycle Club hosted the event at the Carbondale Elk's Lodge.

Organizers say they've collected around 60 full-sized garbage bags of donated clothes and toys over the past couple of months.

This is the second event of its kind to be hosted by the group.

In their Fall event in Marion, more than 150 families received assistance from the event.

"Oh, I got a ton of stuff," said Stephanie Asbury of Carbondale. "I'm walking out with armloads, so it's nice that they can say it's free, you know, but it is yard sale season, so it's time to get out there and get some great stuff."

"We just felt that this was a good way to give back, and help people out," said Ed Riddle.

The group says their best turn out so far for the series of events has been in the Fall, just before the onset of cold weather.

They're next one will be in Murphysboro this Fall.

They haven't yet decided on a date.
