Carbondale tennis instructor has an idea some call 'love at first serve'

CARBONDALE, IL (KFVS) -

If you've wanted to take tennis lessons but think it's just a "racket," we've got an idea for you.

An Illinois tennis instructor has an idea that could get you onto the court. Go with a group of friends!

Larry Geer is a tennis instructor who also works at Southern Illinois University Carbondale's Recreational Sports and Services. He wanted to come up with a fun way to help people. So, he is serving up Soup Can Tennis.

It's a simple concept. A group tennis lesson each Saturday from spring through fall.

The group lesson is for all ages and abilities, and the price is right.

Three cans of food that Geer can donate to local charities.

2015 kickoff of Soup Can Tennis is set for noon to 3 p.m. on Saturday, April 11.
