DU QUOIN, IL (KFVS) -

Illinois State Police Zone 7 officers conducted Alcohol Countermeasure Enforcement (ACE) surveillance at various businesses on March 19, 2015 in Franklin, Perry, Johnson, Pope, and Hardin Counties.

The purpose of these ACE details is to determine which businesses may be selling alcoholic beverages to minors.

A total of 42 locations were surveyed.

Of those businesses, state police say Casers General Store, 231 North Hickory Street, Du Quoin, Illinois, Tequilas Mexican Restaurant, 523 East Vine Street, Vienna, Illinois, and Russell Oil; 201 North First Street, Vienna, Illinois, were involved in the sale of an alcoholic beverage to a minor.

Store employees were cited for unlawful delivery of alcoholic liquor to a minor, and were released on a notice to appear in court.

The Illinois State Police commends establishments which do not sell alcohol to minors.

This project was funded by the Illinois Department of Transportation, Division of Traffic Safety.
