MORROW, GA (KFVS) -

A trailer carrying a NASCAR racing team's car was stolen overnight in Morrow, Ga. according to John Horn, the driver of the vehicle hauling the trailer.

Horn, who is from Cape Girardeau County but lives in North Carolina, says the unmarked, white Team XTREME Racing trailer had the No. 44 car inside and was stolen from a hotel sometime overnight.

Local authorities were notified of the stolen vehicle Friday at 5:52 a.m.

Police responded to a stolen vehicle call at the Drury Inn located at 6520 South Lee Street.

A man reported that a black 2004 Ford F-350 (NJ tag WX78 value $12,500), enclosed 2011 white Sunbeam trailer (NJ tag TMN68L value $10,000), 2015 Chevy Nascar Race Car inside the trailer value $250,000, Nascar spare engine value $100,000, and misc. racing equipment valued $17,500 were taken from the Drury Inn overflow parking lot.

The man said arrived at the Drury Inn at 11 p.m. on Thursday. The man who reported the stolen vehicle told police he observed the vehicle in the lot at little after midnight on Friday.

He went out to the vehicle around 5:50 a.m. and it was missing from where it was parked.

The hotel manager was able to pull up video of the rear lot of the hotel.

At 5:25 a.m., a newer model silver or grey Jeep Cherokee entered the lot. The vehicle re-entered the lot at 5:32 a.m.

Police say it appeared that a black male walked across the parking lot toward the truck and trailer. At 5:34 a.m., the vehicle was seen leaving the parking lot.
