2 hurt in ice-related car crash in KY

MCCRACKEN COUNTY, KY (KFVS) - Authorities say two people were injured after an ice-related crash in western Kentucky on Sunday morning.

It happened around 6:15 A.M. in the 6400 block of Old US 60 in McCracken County, Kentucky.

According to the sheriff's office, Maria J. Blue, 40, of Paducah was traveling east on Old US 60 when she hit a large area of ice causing her to lose control of her car.

Blue's car left the road and turned on its side after hitting a concrete culvert headwall.

Blue and her 16-year-old passenger was taken to an area hospital for treatment of non-life threatening injuries.

Both had to be extracted from the car.

The Concord Fire Department and Mercy Regional assisted at the scene.
