Study shows states best, worst at controlling bullying

(KFVS) - A new study from WalletHub shows which states are doing the best and which are falling short at controlling the ongoing issue of bullying.

The study included 42 states and Washington D.C. where bullying is most pervasive.

Nine key things were considered including bullying incident rates online and on school property to the cost of lower attendance at schools.

According to the study, the best states at controlling bullying are:

  • Massachusetts
  • Rhode Island
  • Oklahoma
  • Delaware
  • District of Columbia
  • Nebraska
  • New Mexico
  • Kentucky North Carolina
  • Florida 
The study found that the worst states at controlling bullying are:

  • Idaho
  • Arizona
  • Michigan
  • Illinois
  • Tennessee
  • North Dakota
  • Montana
  • Missouri
  • Louisiana 
  • Arkansas
The study also found that more than 160,000 children are missing school every day in the United States out of fear of being bullied.
