SB I-57 back open in Franklin Co., IL after semi overturns

FRANKLIN COUNTY, IL (KFVS) - The southbound lanes of Interstate 57 in Franklin County are back open after semi truck overturned, according to Illinois State Police.

Officials say around 5:45 a.m. 64-year-old Glenn Hackney of Hoopeston, Illinois lost control of his truck at mile marker 68. The truck rolled onto its side, blocking both lanes of traffic.

The truck was hauling railroad wheels that spilled into the median.

Hackney suffered minor injuries.

Both southbound lanes were blocked by the truck. 

The crash, which is between West Frankfort and Benton, is still under investigation.
