STODDARD COUNTY, MO (KFVS) - The Stoddard County Commission are making plans on upgrading the jail and justice center.
According to Stoddard County Presiding Commissioner Greg Mathis the Commission plans to make the following improvements:
- Making $2.5 million worth of upgrades to the Stoddard County Jail and the Justice Center; they currently have 1.7 million set aside for the upgrades and hope to earn more money via the general revenue fund.
- They are currently working on final details to upgrade the Justice Center.
- Making upgrades consisting of fixing up the 13-year-old building; including, a new roof, new sheet rock, paint, carpet, and new floors.
- In the downstairs, they would like to make some improvements to the Juvenile Detention Area including new bunks, new tables, and painting.
After they finish the justice center they will start taking bids on improving the Stoddard County Jail.
