CARBONDALE, IL (KFVS) -

Two men were arrested Monday in Carbondale in connection with an incident involving a gun near the Makanda Township Fire Station.

Jackson County Sheriff's deputies responded to the call of a man with a gun at 5420 Old Highway 51 and were given descriptions of two black male suspects involved in the incident.

Deputies were told the males fled on foot north toward South Illinois Avenue.

After a search, deputies found 44-year-old Daryl S. Hawkins and 30-year-old Keitric D. Carter who matched witness descriptions of the suspects.

Deputies say they found a loaded firearm on one of the suspects.
