LYON COUNTY, KY (KFVS) - Two men are facing charges after Kentucky State Police found $100,000 worth of illegal drugs during a traffic stop.

According to KSP officials, on Thursday, Jan. 15, a trooper stopped a car along Interstate 24 in Lyon County. Naptali Juarez, 34, of Baxter, Tennessee was driving and 34-year-old Fransisco Ortiz of Mesa, Arizona was a passenger.

The trooper says criminal activity was indicated and officers were called to the scene to help with narcotics detection.

A cooler that looked to be tampered with was found in the vehicle. Troopers found the cooler contained five pounds of marijuana, 10 ounces of cocaine and 1.1 pounds of methamphetamine.

Ortiz and Juarez were arrested and charged with trafficking in marijuana, trafficking in cocaine and trafficking in methamphetamine. Both were taken to the Caldwell County Jail.
