Carbondale police searching for armed robbery suspect

CARBONDALE, IL (KFVS) -

The Carbondale Police Department is looking for a suspect in an armed robbery investigation on Dec. 22 around 5:05 p.m.

Police say they responded to a business in the 800 block of East Walnut Street in reference to a robbery complaint.

They learned the suspect entered the business and demanded money while holding a gun. The suspect then left the business and ran away eastbound.

Police say there were no injuries.

The suspect is described as 5 feet, 9 inches to 5 feet, 11 inches, medium size and with a muscular build. He was last seen wearing a black, long sleeve, skin-tight shirt with a blue t-shirt over it, blue jeans and white tennis shoes.

If anyone has any information on the suspect, they are encouraged to contact the police department. The investigation is ongoing.
