Flu index ranks Heartland high on the list

CHICAGO (KFVS) - A recent high flu index rating lists the Heartland as being hit hard by the virus.

The index shows the Paducah-Cape Girardeau-Harrisburg DMA area as having the second worst outbreak in the nation.

The top 10 states with flu activity, according to Walgreens.com, are:

1. Mississippi

2. Kentucky

3. Tennessee

4. Texas

5. Alabama

6. Oklahoma

7. South Carolina

8. Georgia

9. Illinois

10. Louisiana

The list was updated as of Dec. 29, 2014.
