New Year's Resolution: Hitting the gym?

CAPE GIRARDEAU, MO (KFVS) -

It's that time of year to make your New Year's resolution and for many of you that means you plan to hit the gym more.

Jill Mills is a manager at Anytime Fitness in Cape Girardeau, and she said this is their busy season.

From the end of December to March she said more people join the gym, and more people come to work out.

Sally Beaudean works out six days a week, and was the member of the month.

Regulars like her told us they see more people at the gym, but are still able to get in their own workout.

"Throughout the year we'll have hotspots but most of the people come in New Year's resolutions, gifts from Christmas all of that stuff, that's all happening right now,” said Jill Mills.

"I don't really have any issues, there are enough machines here I can usually find something to do, and everybody here is really good about easing off, and letting other people take on,” said Sally Beaudean.

Some regulars said they go to the gym at odd times of the day to avoid the crowds.

Mills said they also have tools like an online fitness program and personal training classes that offer people more options and ways to work out.
