MCCRACKEN COUNTY, KY (KFVS) -

The McCracken County Sheriff's Department responded to an injury crash on Wednesday evening, Dec. 31.

According to deputies, they arrived at the intersection of Olivet Church Road and Commerce Drive around 7:21 p.m. for a report of a single vehicle crash.

They say Darlene Weitbrecht, 58, of Paducah, was going eastbound on Commerce Drive in her 2004 Chevy passenger car.

Deputies say she failed to stop for the posted stop sign at the intersection of Commerce Drive and Olivet Church Road, continued across Olivet Church Road and left the road.

Weitbrecht's car went down a large embankment and hit a ditch near Walker Stone Inc.

According to the sheriff's department, Weitbrecht's passenger, 50-year-old Christopher Norris, also of Paducah, was taken to an area hospital for minor injuries.

They say Weitbrecht was not injured.
