SALINE COUNTY, IL (KFVS) - Both lanes of Illinois Route 34 North at the Raleigh curve in Saline County are back open Tuesday evening, Dec. 30 after a semi overturned, according to Illinois State Police.

ISP says Michael J. Dawe, 48, of Thompsonville, Ill., was driving a red 2008 truck tractor with a silver 2008 dump trailer eastbound on Rte. 34 in rural Saline County when about a 1 mile north of Raleigh, he went off the right side of the road for unknown reasons.

Police say the truck continued off the road and hit an embankment, causing the trailer to overturn and lose its load.

The incident happened around 11:47 a.m. on Tuesday.

Dawe was not injured in the crash. He was cited for improper lane usage.
