Crews respond to duplex fire in Sikeston

SIKESTON, MO (KFVS) -

Crews responded to a duplex fire in Sikeston, Missouri on Monday evening, December 29.

According to Sikeston DPS, three people were home at the time, but made it out safely.

The home is located on Ruth Street.

They say the fire started in an add-on room.

The people saw smoke coming from the room and called 911.

Crews got the call around 5:45 p.m. and the fire was under control in 15 minutes.

An engine and ladder truck responded.

Police say the fire is not thought to be suspicious.

There is estimated to be about $2,000 in damage.
