Cape Girardeau police investigating after shots fired into home

CAPE GIRARDEAU, MO (KFVS) -

Police in Cape Girardeau, Missouri are investigating a report of shots fired.

According to Corporal Darin Hickey with the Cape Girardeau Police Department, they are investigating shots fired into a home in the 1700 block of Montgomery Street on Sunday night, Dec. 28.

He said police were called to the scene around 10 p.m. and found several shots had been fired into the home.

At the time of the shooting, Hickey said one person was inside the home with two children.

He said some bullets went through the walls and entered the home. The bullets damaged the walls, a television, a couch and other items.

Cpl. Hickey said no one was injured.

As of this time, police do not have anyone in custody.
