Toys for tots has a successful year in southern IL

(KFVS) - Over the past month, dozens of newly-bought, unwrapped toys were collected during this year's Toys for Tots program in southern Illinois.

The mission of the Toys for Tots program is to collect toys during their annual drive and distribute them as Christmas gifts to less fortunate families in the community

Volunteers say the quantity of toys that we received was outstanding.

“Mom and dad can put their name on it or whatever. It has been what we've been doing for the last 13 years is giving back to those communities and making a difference in people's lives,” said Patti Morgan with the program.

Thanks to volunteers, businesses and contributors, the program was able to provide Christmas more than 3000 children in the area.
