KY unemployment rates down for November

(KFVS) -

Unemployment rates have fallen in 119 counties in Kentucky, according to the Kentucky Office of Employment and Training.

Boone and Woodford counties had the lowest jobless rates between November 2013 and November 2014 at 4.5 percent each, followed by Madison and Owen counties at 4.7 percent each.

Daviess, Franklin, Jessamine, Oldham, Scott, Simpson and Warren counties all had 4.8 percent jobless rates.

Jackson County had Kentucky's highest unemployment rate at 12.3 percent.

According to the Kentucky Education and Workforce Development Cabinet, unemployment statistics are based on estimates and are compiled to measure trends rather than actually to count people working. Civilian labor force statistics include non-military workers and unemployed Kentuckians who are actively seeking work. They do not include unemployed Kentuckians who have not looked for employment within the past four weeks.
