DPS: Sikeston abandoned house fire considered suspicious

SIKESTON, MO (KFVS) -

 The Sikeston Department of Public Safety says a house fire in Sikeston, Missouri on Saturday night is considered suspicious.

According to Capt. Jim Macmillan, DPS responded to two structure fires Saturday night around 9:30 p.m.

The first fire was at 803 Woodruff. It was a chimney fire.

Shortly thereafter, a second house fire was reported to DPS at 504 Wilson Street.

After officer arrived, they found the abandoned structure engulfed in flames.

The cause of the fire is being investigated. DPS says it's thought to be suspicious.
