If you're nearing a panic attack, you're not alone.

The National Shopping Federation says only half of you are done Christmas shopping. So, that means ten million people will be out out in full force this weekend up until the last minute.

Heartland News found out lots of big box and local stores will be open late and extending hours now and offering in-store deals, extra staff to assist and even opportunities to shop from home.

Walmart is now open 24 hours a day until 8 p.m. on Christmas Eve. The store offers shipping options until the 23rd. Toys R Us is also open round the clock until Christmas Eve at 9 p.m.

Check out your favorite stores hours online for their hours and flash deals before you head to the store, especially the night before. You can also sign up for email and text alerts from many chains.

Another new trend, you can also look for your loved ones wants on 'wish list' sections of online sites like

This may sound like no-brainer, but it will pay off to get out early and wear comfortable shoes.

Heartland News also discovered not only big chains, but also local stores in southeast Missouri now offer the option to buy gift cards you can have emailed, and shipping is offered even on the sites of mom and pop shops.

"You just enter the coupon code when you get the email with your gift card," said Chelsea Anderson of Sloan + Themis.

Anderson handles the Main Street Cape Girardeau store's online marketing and retail services.

On Friday, she focused on sending emails and promoting the gift card option on Facebook and Twitter.

"You can't go wrong with a gift card," said Anderson. "You can just put in their email and they'll get it you can put in a personal message too."

Many online and retail stores and credit services also offer the gift card email option: Amazon, American Express, Walmart and Target are most popular according to shopping analysts.

As for apps PriceBlink is recommended to track up to the minute deals that save the most.

Meanwhile RetailMeNot offers coupons on the latest deals you don't have to clip, they can be sent and scanned straight from your smart phone.
