I-64 lanes open in White Co. after hazmat spill

WHITE COUNTY, IL (KFVS) -

Interstate 64 lanes are are now open in White County, Illinois after a hazardous material spill, according to Illinois State Police.

It happened around the 127-125 mile markers around the crash scene.

According to ISP, around 12:19 Thursday morning, a semi truck driven by 61-year-old Lewis Daugherty of House Springs, Missouri ran off the road for unknown reasons and overturned at mile post 126.

Hazardous material spilled from the semi truck into a nearby ditch.

The crash is still under investigation.

Daugherty was taken to a local hospital for treatment. His condition is unknown at this time.
