CAPE GIRARDEAU, MO (KFVS) -

Southeast Missouri basketball star Jarekious Bradley faces some legal issues related to a car wreck.

At the time, police ticketed Bradley for leaving the scene of a crash and not having insurance.

According to Cape Girardeau police, Bradley never paid that fine, so a judge issued a warrant for his arrest.

On Friday, Dec. 12, Bradley turned himself in, paid his bond and got another court date.

We talked to Redhawks Coach Dickey Nutt about this issue.

He said there was a misunderstanding on Bradley's part relating to the incident and court date, and he is taking care of his responsibilities and moving forward.

Team-wise, the Redhawks coach said this matter is being handled internally and that Bradley will travel with the team over the weekend and continue to play as usual.

Coach Nutt stressed that his student athletes need to be responsible when it comes to dealing with issues off the court.

The week before, Bradley made a last second shot against SIU to win the game. He's also the team's leading scorer.

The SEMO basketball team will return to action on Saturday at 7:30 in Arkansas.
