WILLIAMSON COUNTY, IL (KFVS) -

The man accused of kidnapping his stepdaughters waived his prelim on Monday, Jan. 5, according to Williamson County Assistant State's Attorney Jimmy Dean.

Damon Jones will head to trial at 9 a.m. on Feb. 2, according to Dean.

He is charged with kidnapping, aggravated kidnapping and possession of methamphetamine.

His bond was set at $2 million or $200,000 cash.

He made his first court appearance on Tuesday, Dec. 16.

An Amber Alert was issued for the two girls on Monday, Dec. 15.

Calls from the public led authorities to the area of Crab Orchard Lake and Lake of Egypt. During the search of the area, the vehicle was spotted by a deputy at King Tut's convenience store.

Damon Jones, the girls' stepfather, was taken into custody without incident and the girls were reunited with their family at the Williamson County Sheriff's Office.
