Coroner: No foul play suspected after woman's body found in Murray

MURRAY, KY (KFVS) -

A coroner says no foul play is suspected after a woman's body was found on Saturday in Murray, Kentucky.

According to Calloway County Coroner Rick Harris, 23-year-old Megan Cooper from Murray was the woman found dead in the woods on Saturday, Dec. 13 west of Stadium Drive. 

Harris said Sunday that the autopsy is complete and no foul play is suspected. They are still waiting on the toxicology results.

The autopsy was performed Sunday morning in Louisville. 

According to Murray Police, around  7:30 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 12 the Murray Police Department responded to a welfare check at a home on Stadium View Drive in Murray. 

Police say the woman was not in the home. 

Investigators began a follow up investigation, and a missing person's report was filed before her body was found Saturday.

Police say the investigation is ongoing. 

Police ask anyone with information regarding the investigation to contact the Murray Police Department at (270) 753-1621.
