(KFVS) -

Along with the joy, cheer and festivities of the holidays also comes stress, complications and even hassles. So here's a guide for shopping, shipping, food and more!

Pinterest is a great place for holiday recipes. The site has a whole category dedicated to all sorts of food ideas from simple and quick to complex and detailed.

Food Network also offers a ton of ideas for desserts, dishes, appetizers and much more. Click here for their full list.

Another great online recipe destination is Taste of Home. No matter what holiday you're cooking for this season, they have you covered.

Smartphone apps

Shopping can be a big source of stress during the holidays. RetailMeNot, Shopular and RedLaser all offer coupons, discounts and location-based deals.

When it comes to travel, PackingPro can help you keep your bags organized, FlightTrack can track planes across the globe and TravelSafe Pro offers emergency service numbers for nearly every place on the planet.

And if you just need to stay organized, EasilyDo, Evernote and Timeful are all free scheduling and organizational tools.

Shipping and mailing

The United States Postal Service has deadlines for shipping packages in time for Christmas 2014:

December 15 -- Standard Post
December 17 -- Global Express Guaranteed
December 20 -- First-Class Mail
December 20 -- Priority Mail
December 23 -- Priority Mail Express

Try to only ship small gifts that will fit in flat-rate or small boxes to avoid large shipping fees. Also, pack as many gifts as possible in one box or try shipping gifts to a centrally located family member. That way, that relative can distribute gifts to other loved ones in the area.

You can get the shipping deadlines for eBay here.

When to shop

Some of the best shopping days have already passed for the year, but it's not too late to snag a deal. Experts say between Dec. 21 and Dec. 24 many big-ticket items like televisions and furniture will be up for steep discounts online.

Keep in mind that some stores like Kohl's and Macy's will be staying open for several days in a row leading up to Christmas. That means you can last-minute shop to your heart's content.

Target and JC Penney will be extending their hours through the holiday season to accommodate shoppers.
