Magnitude 2.3 earthquake hits Southeast Missouri

(KFVS) -

A magnitude 2.3 earthquake hit Southeast Missouri early Thursday morning, according to the United States Geological Survey.

The USGS says it hit about four miles southwest of Steele, Missouri around 2:21 a.m., central time.

Those living six miles northeast of Blytheville, Arkansas and about eighteen miles southeast of Kennett were also in the path and may have felt some shaking.
